Here are a just a few posts from our Instagram feed. Diversity. Motherhood. The new generation of frontline workers and first responders. People who have dutifully served in the armed forces and, in some cases, lost their lives doing so. All of these are of great importance to us and, thus, we have made them central to our social media messaging. It’s one of the places we get to say things we don’t always get to say.

Happy Stonewall Day! As we near the close of Pride Month 2020, we remember Marsha P. Johnson, a prominent figure in the pivotal Stonewall Riots of 1969. The "P" in her name stood for "pay it no mind", which was also the answer she gave to questions about her gender. Learn more about her at the Marsha P. Johnson Institute, home of the Marsha P. As an agency, with July 4th upcoming, several of us recently took a moment out of our lives to revisit the Declaration of Independence. We didn’t dissect it word-by-word, but we did reexamine its meaning and tried to view it through a modern lens. This exercise gave us pause and made us reevaluate the very notion of independence, as many individuals and communities continue to find themselves fighting, sometimes begging and pleading, for basic freedoms.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Those words, lifted from the Declaration itself, are often cited. Here is a short list of some of the other things we feel compelled, through our shared desire for independence, to pursue.
